About the property

An impressive Borgo originally built in medieval times and added to in the 1920's by the owner; the painter Dario Neri. Surrounded by ca. 340 Ha of private hunting reserve with extensive vineyards and olive groves. The property comprises the Villa with church and adjacent 'canonica' and 7 other houses forming the village. There are several agricultural buildings and a modern wine cellar. The Villa and church are listed; the church dating back to 1000 was built by the Benedictine monks and has medieval walls and ramparts surrounding it creating a beautiful plateau dominating the estate. The air conditioned wine cellar includes stainless steel, wood and concrete vats. There are several apartments which are rented out for tourism and some for farm-workers with wine-producing rooms below. All have gas or wood central heating. The land comprises 13ha vineyards, olive groves (7.35 Ha- 2000 trees) arable land (90 Ha) and woodland (200 Ha). There is a lake used for irrigation and the estate is a private hunting reserve with pheasant, deer and wild boar. The wine produced is Toscano IGT(Bianco, Rosso and Rosato) , Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG and Chianti Vin Santo. Set in beautiful open countryside 16 kms south west of Siena. Rome is 220 kms away, Florence 77 kms and the tuscan coast 70 kms.
