Aghaboe House was finished about 1730. It was the home to the famous Irish. Antiquarian Edward Ledwich circa 1790. The house itself was made of beautiful stone reminiscent of earlier times. The parlor was quite magnificent yet cozy. The bedrooms were surprisingly toasty. I felt like I was staying in a castle as the bedrooms were so large. It was great to be able to totally spread out. We visited the house when it was a bit chilly out but the pellet stoves made the rooms perfectly warm. I was intrigued by the kitchen as I had never used an oil-fired stove before. It worked quite well and was just as easy as using the gas and electric stoves that I am used to.
