However, the cottage is not in Northern Ireland. It's in the Republic. It is about a two hour drive to our cottage from Belfast international airport, which is actually located several miles outside of Belfast city, in the countryside, to the west of the city. Our local airport is Carrickfinn airport, which provides flights from Dublin and Glasgow. Our cottage is about an hour and a half from the border with Northern Ireland, which is outside the city of Derry / Londonderry. However, there are no border guards or customs, so you don't really notice when you have crossed over (until you start seeing road signs in Irish, which means you are in the Republic). It takes about five hours to drive northwest to the cottage from Dublin airport. And it is a long day's drive north (5 hours ?), up the very picturesque west coast, from Shannon airport. Payment Policy All rates are in Euros. Special offers require immediate payment of the full sum into our bank account. Normal bookings: A firm booking will be made on receipt of a non refundable deposit of € 100, -- per week booked. The visitor is then liable for payment of the balance of the total sum due. The remainder of the balance should be sent to us six weeks prior to arrival and is non refundable . The booking agreement confers a right to occupy the accommodation for the agreed period. Cancellation Policy To cancel a booking, the visitor should advise us by telephone of the cancellation and immediately confirm the cancellation in writing. In the event of a cancellation occurring within ten weeks of the holiday a refund of the rent paid will be made only if we subsequently re-let the can celled period. After you have booked your accommodation you are responsible for the full rental even if you are unable to take your holiday as planned.It is wise to get an insurance just for the holiday. Rules Rates are subjected to change without prior notice. Only those persons specified on the booking email may occupy the accommodation booked. The maximum number of persons allowed to occupy the bungalow is 8, not counting babies in cots. Sub-letting or assignation of the Let is strictly prohibited. The person who signs the booking email will be responsible for ensuring that the conditions of let are adhered to, and for any loss or damage to the accommodation and its contents, allowing for wear and tear, howsoever caused during the rental period. The accommodation rented should be kept clean and in good condition and any breakages reported immediately. An extra deposit of € 100, -- has to be paid when you book the cottage. This deposit will be paid back if the cottage is left as it was found. If, in the sole judgment of the owners excessive cleaning is required a cleaning charge of € 50, -- will be levied. Personal property of visitors occupying the accommodation is not the responsibility of the owners. Vehicles and personal property are left at your own risk. No pets or animals are allowed to occupy the accommodation without the owners consent. If for any reason the accommodation is not available to the visitor on the dates booked due to events beyond our reasonable control, the owners will refund money that has been paid by the visitor. The owners will have no further liability to the visitor or any other party.
