If you like walking, try a walk on Montaña Roja (red mountain) which has an easy footpath leading to the top, where there is a panoramic view to reward you for the effort of making the climb. Another walk is to Castillo del Aguila, a circular fort that was built as protection against pirates in the 18th century. The fort has two stories; the sentries were downstairs, and upstairs there was a water reservoir. the entrance is high and used to be additionally protected by a most fort built in the same way on Fuerteventura in el Cotillo and el Castillo.
