FOR PEACE OF MIND BEFORE BOOKING OR ENQUIRING - PLEASE READ THE FEEDBACK OF SOME THE GUESTS WHO HAVE STAYED AT THE HOUSE SINCE SEPTEMBER 2007:- Hello Barry Thanks for all the info. You were asking were we referred by other Londonderry folk, but, no we weren't. Actually, it was your write up on the website that did it for me - that, and all the great reviews you were given on the site too! On the website you sounded like you really made an effort for your house guests, and so far with us that has been true too. The cheque is in the post. Many thanks, Julie Limavady. Co. Londonderry. N.I. 27th November 2008. ON HER RETURN FROM HOLIDAY, JULIE SENT THIS FEEDBACK ON 5TH JANUARY 2009. Hello Barry Happy New Year to you and your family. Apologies for only writing now, but I haven't had internet access for a while. Thanks very much for the cheque. I wanted to let you know that my brother (Stephen) and I had a lovely holiday at La Torre. Your house is fantastic (like home from home) and we would have liked to have stayed longer! The first few days it was very windy which made it quite cold to play golf but at least it was dry. Of course towards the end of the week, just before we had to leave, the sun came out and we were in t-shirts. We played La Torre twice and Hacienda once. Both were very nice courses, and quiet which meant that we didn't have to rush round. Thanks for the golf form - it saved us a bit of money. We visited Murcia one day and drove to La Manga another, just to see a bit of the area. We also visited the Mar Menor resort, as friends of ours have bought property there. It was very different to La Torre with all the colourful buildings. Stephen would have been happy enough to relax at your house but I got him out and about!! If we're ever going back that way, we'll definitely get in touch to find out if your house is available. I may even organise a girly golf trip!! Many thanks, Julie ............................................................................................................. Hi Barry & Jenny Firstly, a very big thank you to you both for renting your beautiful Townhouse to us. We had a fantastic holiday and the house was just perfect. The situation of the house, opp the communal pool was great and the closeness to the rear access gate was also good as we used this gate frequently. Everything about the house was very positive, the decoration, the availability of everything we needed etc. Would definately use you again. Thanks again Clare & Pete. 5TH AUGUST 2008. Hello Barry yes we are back safe and sound and thank you the house was great. The only improvement would be on the weather which neither of us could have changed. John was happy in the Irish bar on a night complete with his cigar, they all loved the golf. Thank you again . Regards from Susan, John ,Stephanie and Philip. Hi Barry, We had a great time and your house was excellent! good standard and well equipped. Do you have 2 weeks available in september if not we would like to book the same 2 weeks in 2009 Norma. Fife. Scotland. Barry was a wonderful and polite person to deal with, extremely helpful with every aspect even helping with the best flight deals and car hire. The Town house was beautiful and we booked twice that year as we were both that impressed with the townhouse. The house itself was amazing with all the mod cons you could ask for and all furniture was that of 100% luxury and top quality. We both felt that Barrys house was in the best loaction on the complex as it was right overlooking the largest pool on the resort, also the tennis courts were right outside (barry even has tennis rackets for use) and the golf par is also just outside to the left. The resort is amazing for a lovely peacefull holiday with all beautiful beaches and places of interest just a short drive away. Eveything you can ask for is on this resort and by far Barrys townhouse is beyond superb. Like i say we booked in june last year and also september and will certainly be booking again this year without a doubt. Thanks again Barry for giving us the chance to take advantage of such a lovely place. Andy and Heather. ANDY AND HEATHER HAVE JUST BOOKED 11 DAYS IN EARLY SEPTEMBER. .............................................................................................................. Hi Barry, Thank you for a fantastic break. The house was very impressive and we were very comfortable. We will certainly recommend your service and accommodation to everybody. We will go again soon! All the very best, Reagan. ebayer: reags19 (86stars) 100% Positive Feedback. 22nd February. ................................................ Hi Barry! Thankyou for returning the cheque which arrived this morning. We both throroughly enjoyed our holiday in no small part due to the resort and the house. La Torre itself has been beautifully landscaped and meticulously maintained. Indeed standing in the middle of the golf course by the lake on a sunny evening most of my Spanish family found it hard to believe they were in Murcia - it seemed more like Florida! The house itself is nicely designed and furnished very comfortably in excellent taste. We found it a delight to return to at the end of a long day's touring. I would go so far as to say that it the nicest house we have rented in many years. All in all a very enjoyable experience which lived up to and indeed surpassed the original description. Many Thanks, Philip Moloney. Surrey. 6th May ................................................................ Hi, Barry Our holiday was fantastic, the weather was beautiful, we managed to all fit in your house without too much organising! Your house was lovely and as described, the position being very good for us as we spent most of our time around the pool which the children loved and played tennis a fair bit too! I did move your breakables out of harms way when we arrived and placed them back in position before we left, thought it better to be safe than sorry with little fingers around! We did tell vanessa about the zip on one of the cots being broken which she said she would email you about as this is how we found it, we managed to push it close up to the wall so we didnt need to bother her with getting another one sorted (seeing as you had kindly paid for the extra one yourself) We would love to go and stay again hopefully in september (after the children have gone back so the flights will be cheaper!) so perhaps you could let us have any dates that you have available and we can check flights etc. Thanks again for letting all of us stay in your lovely house. Kind Regards Rebecca 8th May 2009. REBECCA HAS BOOKED AGAIN FOR 10 DAYS IN SEPTEMBER ........................................................ Hi Barry We had such a good time on holiday. We really enjoyed our stay. The weather was fabulous, very hot sometimes reaching 37c The accommodation was excellent, very spacious furnished to a high standard. The house is very well situated within easy reach to Mercia, Cartegena and the beaches. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time on the roof terrace.Everything we needed was on hand, supermarket, restaurants, tennis courts, bike riding. We would thoroughly recommend it to any of our friends and look forward to staying again next year. regards Maureen & Bob 27th May ................................................................. Hi Barry We all had a wonderful holiday, thank you. Your house was fantastic, and I wouldn't hesitate in staying there again. It's likely that a friend and I would be interested in a 3 night break in October (before half term), so we will check your availability, prices etc once we decide on dates. Many thanks. Lynda B Salisbury. 23rd May 2009. .................................................... Dear Barry, Fantastic holiday thankyou. The Resort and your townhouse were perfect. The facilities of the resort were great ie Golf course superb restaurants and swimming pools I think theres around 20 on the resort and the free tennis on your doorstep. The weather was marvellous not a cloud in the sky for 2 weeks and the rooftop terrace was used everyday. You should be very proud of your holiday home and most importantly the resort is finished unlike many of the others where work seems to have stopped due to the reccession. The cost of your townhouse is very very reasonable at £325 a week even for just the 2 of us whereas theres plenty of room for 4 people comfortably making it a very cheap 5 star holiday. Would reccommend El Valle course for a change superb high desert course cost of 30 euros after 3pm same as La Torre and just 15 mins up road .Also must mention the great beaches at La Kanazaries 20 mins away and the very welcoming sea breezes in the heatwave. Could go on and on but you have probably heard it all before .Thanks for your personal service advice and your present for my 60th. Very much appreciated. Will not hesitate in contacting you again for a simply great stay in sunny spain. Regards Vernon & Dianne 17th June 2009. ...................................................... Hi, Barry & Jenny, A really big thank you for all your help, regarding our holiday. Well where do I start? Your house is fabulous.. and lovely and clean,a credit to you both on your decor and fixtures etc....we didn't want to come home!! Its such a lovely complex..and every one so friendly and helpful . And the weather was perfect..not a drop of rain to be seen anywhere? Vanessa and her husband were very helpful and kind. We found plenty to do..both on and off the complex,in and around Murcia..and the sea and beaches at Mar Menor where fabulous. From myself and my family a very big thank you to you both. Brian,Dianne & Brad x ....................................................... Barry and Jenny Thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful home. The house was spotless with all mod cons, so handy with kids but I think the most important aspect of this house is its wonderful position on La Torre. It looks over a lovely pool, which was never crowded. A wonderful 1st floor balcony, gives great privacy for sunbathing and you can keep careful eye on the kids in the pool. La Torre is a very relaxing resport and we look forward to when we can return. Barry is a great owner, full of local knowledge and always there for any queries. Very Best wishes from Margaret, David, Jack and Sinead. Londonderry Northern Ireland. Speak soon Barry, Best Wishes and thanks to Jenny Margaret 14th August. .............................................................................................. Barry, We had an excellent holiday and were most impressed with everything regarding the house, location and complex which was much larger with more going on than we expected. We would love to book again but cant yet as our children are doing GCSE and a levels next year and we dont know the dates for exams etc. As soon as have they key dates we will be in touch to check availability. Improvements None, everything you need for a holiday was there and dont believe you have to do anything. Thank you once again for all your updates and information prior to the holiday, it was very much appreciated and would happily act as a reference for your villa if requested. Max Gray GFA Manager BAE SYSTEMS 2nd September 2009. ....................................................... Hello Barry Just a quick note to say thanks for all the arrangements at La Torre. The golf arrangements in particular worked extremely well, no problems at all, all bookings and pre-payments confirmed and 3 very enjoyable rounds of golf completed. Rita made herself known on day 1 and was very helpful providing the girls with directions to a nearby shopping mall whilst we were golfing and also provided some restaurant recommendations. With average temperatures of 25/26C at mid day and half a day of cloud amidst pure sun there were certainly no complaints about the weather either. What a shame we had to spoil it all by coming home :-))))) Once again, many thanks for your outstanding help Peter 30th October .................................................... Hi Barry, Well, what can I say, we had a wonderful holiday!!! Your townhouse provided everything we needed to sit back, relax and watch the world go by!! The house is beautifully decorated, clean and very comfortable. Your keyholder Rita, and David who provided our airport transfers, were very friendly and helpful. We hired a car for 5 days and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the resorts around Murcia, which proved easy due to clear sign posting. The polaris world supermarket was great and had everything we needed. Having a fabulous pool directly opposite was smashing!!! The weather was very hot and sunny. Thankyou for a great week Barry and you take care. Kind regards Chris and Wendy. xx ............................................................................................................. Hi Barry Just a quick line to firstly say a big thank you from myself and my family for the way you have made our recent holiday easy going from my first contact with you via various emails and telephone calls, we thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay at your home in la Torr, which was exactly as described in your website and which was a big influence for us to decide to book your property, it was nice to be in an area / resort in Spain which is completed, clean and up and running with more than one could ask for. IE Golf, Supermarket, Restaurants and various bars and beaches not too far away, we felt the whole resort gave you a safety feel factor on evenings / day times maybe because we knew and saw the presence of security which was about, the house and pool was 1st class, and I was impressed with how many times the pool was cleaned whilst we stayed, and the regularly checks to make sure only visitors / residents were using them, I will be telling my family and Friends of your property and do hope we will be able to use it again in the future. I hope also that Rita informed you that we left your home in a respectable condition as we first found it on our arrival. Once again many thanks and kind regards Darren 11th August 2010. ..............................................................................................................

This pretty little retirement/holiday home is a south facing Dobrudja style building with four reasonably sizes rooms and a basement. There is a summerhouse to the front of the property offering another two small rooms and a toilet. Both will need some modernisation / renovation to bring them up to UK standards. (See Pics)The property is situated on the edge of the village in a beautiful little valley that has a stream running through it. There are views across the valley and there is only one close neighbour who lives approximately 150 to 200 metres away. VillageThe village is tranquil and is close to the The Syanovo monastery of St. Marina, which is only 2 minutes walk from the house. The village has only about 135 people but has a bar and souvenir shop. It is approximately 6 km to the town of Nova Cherna, where all amenities can be found, only 10km from the Danube river and under 50km from the beautiful border city of Ruse. There is a airport transfer service available to all the major airports in the area. Varna and Golden Sands is only 2 hours by car.LandThe property sits in the middle of 1620 m2 of land with the main recreational areas being the garden to front and a sizable plot to the rear. There are livestock pens to the leading edge of the property that can be utilised if using the property as a smallholding or removed to increase the recreational area. RuseRousse (also transliterated as Ruse or Russe; Bulgarian: ???? ['ru.s?]) is the fifth-largest city in Bulgaria with a population of near 175,600. It is the most significant Bulgarian river port, serving an important part of the international trade of the country. Rousse, is the largest Bulgarian river port on the Danube. Because of that it has always absorbed the culture of Western Europe from visitors here, these include River captains, cruise ship passengers etc. Ruse is known as little Vienna because of its Rococo architecture, the city being almost rebuilt by Austrian architects. The city square is magnificent, very clean, very safe, surrounded by Theatres, opera house, and many many cafe bars, where food and drink are cheap and a pleasure to visit after a long journey. Indeed sitting in these bars watching the children play, the fountains and the sheer tranquillity makes Ruse a wonderful place to be.TransportRuse is a major road and railway hub in Northern Bulgaria. Over a century old house on a corner plot in the beautiful Riebeek Kasteel in the Swartland. Zoned for business or residential, it can be changed to the best buy in that area. Oregon Pine window and door frames to give the charm of a area gone by. With a loft the same size as the house, this is a must see and renovate to see and get back the old way of life. Features : Interior Features : Fireplace, Ceiling Fan, Carpeted Floors Lot Features : Lawn, Swimming Pool, Trees / Shrubs, Corner Lot, Fenced Yard, Garden Area Exterior Finish : Brick Extra Features : Covered Parking. Background Information : Riebeek Kasteel & Riebeek West (The Riebeek Valley) Introduction : The valley and its twin towns, Riebeek Kasteel and Riebeek West, lie an hour northeast of Cape Town. The Riebeek Valley has to be one of the most picturesque spots in the Swartland. As Cape Town traffic has faded, you leave the N7 at Malmesbury. The Kasteelberg rises before you like a stone fortress. Drive over Bothmanskloof Pass, and there it is... Lifestyle : The valley became known for its eccentric artists, alternative lifestylers and genial locals. While village gossip and the ravaging summer heat are downsides, the balance of the year is great. It’s so beautiful, there’s very little crime, and the community spirit is excellent. Riebeek Kasteel is the more elegant town, with a Eurocentric square surrounded by shops and restaurants. Yet Riebeek West has its own draw cards – large Victorian houses, and more peace and quiet. The Valley has a collection of restaurants, coffee-shops and bars which struggle to exist, and it still has the commercial disadvantage of being “on a back road”. No real commercial attractions exists and the Valley certainly do not have a population to support the hostelries that began to spring up. For three centuries, the valley was the preserve of Afrikaans farmers. Fifteen years ago, things changed. The majority of the properties sold are not as holiday homes, but to people want to live in the Valley. Buyers are drawn by the scenic beauty, good schools, and the proximity to Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Paarl and Tygervalley. With the property boom and the olive festival has come a different type of settler. ‘It is no longer only the “artistic types” or retirees, but now includes the mainstream people & even more younger people who have made money and don’t need to be in the city. There are no real opportunities for employment in the Riebeek Valley, so you have to be self-sufficient – work from home, commute, or have a private income. As more companies outsource and employ less, people may as well live in a beautiful place and do business with a computer. Demograpics : 88% of the population speak Afrikaans while only 2.5% speak English. 78% of the population of the Riebeek Valley is coloured, 18% white and 4% black. History : The solitary mountain was ‘discovered’ in 1661 during an expedition into the hinterland led by Corporal Pieter Cruythoff, and named ‘Riebeeck’s Kasteel’ in honour of the governor and his Cape castle. Later, Willem van der Stel offered land in the area to colonists, and the farms Allesverloren and Kloovenberg were established. Among the first farmers were Huguenots, who planted vineyards. Artisans including wagon makers joined the farming community in Riebeek Kasteel, while retired farmers settled in grander houses four kilometres away in Riebeek West. Property Market : The attraction of cheap property is no longer to be found as properties are as expensive as any in the better suburbs of Cape Town, and there is still very little infrastructure. 800m²-900m2 plots sell for R400 000; Entry-level houses start at just under R1-million The majority of properties sell between R1m- to R2m; Top-end properties - over R4m. Popularity peaked in 2004 . Property in Riebeek Kasteel is the most expensive in the Swartland district. Capital growth over the last year increased only 4% while cheaper areas were catching up fast (Malmesbury 11%, Darling 47%, & Porterville with a 37% capital growth). In Riebeek West (15.23%), the average price of property sold has risen from R557 750 to R680 351 over two years. A handful of upmarket developments are taking root in the valley. Average sale prices in the Swartland during the past year: Malmesbury (R623 000), Moorreesburg (R477 000), Riebeek West (R680 000), Riebeek Kasteel (R735 000), Porterville (R467 000), Darling (R618 000), Hopefield (R412 000), Citrusdal (R406 000), Clanwilliam (R530 000) and Piketberg (R427 000). General information : Restuarants : According to the 2007 edition of Eat Out, there are no less than seven entries for the Riebeek Valley amongst South Africa's best 800 restaurants. Bordering on export table grape vineyards, this house enjoys a "rural setting" with views over the vineyards towards mountain ranges on the south, east and west. The house is one of the older houses within Riebeeck-Kasteel and is of historical value. It is very much "Cape Victorian" style, with a roof of corrugated iron gabled with clipped eaves at either end and supported by heavy poplar & oregan beamed ceilings and thick walls, making it sturdy and strong. The main entrance of the house boasts original double oregan pine doors leading to an open plan entrance hall/ lounge, with floors of both Italian tiles and woolen carpets. The lounge opens onto the southern patio (with views over the vineyards) via a pair of "happy doors". There are two (2) bedrooms downs stairs. Each of which shares an en suite bathroom. Both bedrooms have poplar & oregan pine beams/ ceilings painted white. Both bedrooms open onto a patio via a pair of "happy doors". The bathroom has an oval bath, a toilet and generous shower, and an empire style wrought iron vanity stand with Bitterfontein granite top and underslung oval basin. A retractable painted spruce staircase gains you access to the loft above (third bedroom). The staircase can be pulled up / retracted by means of an electrical hoist motor. A living area, ensuite bathroom oval bath, shower and basin and a wrought iron vanity stand and floors finished with Italian tiling and dressing room with free standing cupboards, this loft is used as the main bedroom. The cozy open plan living area has lime-washed flooring and ceiling fans over head, this room is undoubtedly stylish. Downstairs you have an open plan kitchen cum dining room. The style of the kitchen is of an English country "small bone kitchen" which features 2 exposed heavy poplar beams overhead with a double volume space to the open plan loft above. The kitchen comes with a stainless steel under counter oven, hob and extractor fan and built in cupboards, followed by a spacious dining area to complete the picture. An outbuilding has been converted into a tandem garage for 2 cars, which could be easily converted it into garaging for 4 cars or into a self contained cottage or entertainment room. At present there is an old forge which could be turned into a braai / fireplace. The front garden is in the French classical style with iceberg roses and hedges of thyme and myrtle completed by a bow fronted water feature and gravel paths. The remaining garden comprises an assortment of mature fruit and nut trees (almonds, pecans, macadamias, olives, prunes, pears, guavas, figs, naartjies, ruby grapefruit, mulberries, quinces, crimson seedless, saltanas & walton cross grapes) and also a large vegetable patch. The entire property is under a computerised irrigation system and also a borehole with a pump. The property is enclosed with fencing, hedged with olive and dog roses and fully secured by a burglar alarm with PIR beams both inside & outside house, linked to ADT. Eunice is a Potter who also runs the “Yavanna” holiday retreat, and Mark is a part-time IT DirectorWe own: **********An 8 bedroom holiday retreat that we renovated between 2006 and 2008. Yavanna is made up of three adjacent 300-year-old granite farmhouses, as well as a large barn which is converted into a stunning ceramics studio, which also acts as a venue for the retreats we run. Most of the year Yavanna is rented out for family holidays - the guest houses were booked for 33 weeks last year. We also ran a fully subscribed retreat, a cycling week and a pottery/ceramics holiday.Yavanna is set in the Costa Verde, or Minho region, only 5 miles from the Spanish border province of Galicia. Arriving in the Minho region is like stepping back in time. Small houses and farms are dotted around the lush green rural landscape, surrounded by fields often too small for a tractor to work. Our neighbours work the fields with hand tools. Connecting these fields are granite tracks which often have “Vinho Verde” grapevines growing overhead. Yavanna’s valley, Fontoura, lies on the Pilgrim's way, the Camino de Santiago de Compostela. At the same time, over the past 15 years, much EC money has being invested in The Minho, with new motorways having recently been built and a new TGV high speed rail link planned. The journey from Porto which used to take 8 hours now takes just over an hour. Thankfully, the charm of the region has been retained. One of the farmhouses acts as our home, and the other two are used by guests. There are 10 bedrooms and 8 bath/shower rooms in total, and also a 12*6m salt water pool which we added. Some of Europe’s best surf beaches are within a half hour drive as well as beautiful mountain ranges. We chose:************The Costa Verde because of its authenticity and old-fashionedness. We wanted to live amongst natural beauty with beaches and mountains nearby. We wanted a complete career change and were fed up with the rat race. We wanted to feel part of a community, with friendly neighbours and very low crime. - We found what we wanted, and more. - We have our own well with crystal clear water. - We feel more sunshine. - We have a business we run from our home, meeting interesting people from all over the world who tell us they leave feeling 10 times better than when they arrive. - We run a business that is virtually stress-free, yet gives a comfortable lifestyle.- We live in an area where a beer or a coffee costs less than a Euro. - We are less than 2 hours flying time from the UK. - We live somewhere where people say good morning to each other with a big smile. - We experience real Portugal, yet live only 10 minutes from the Spanish border and enjoy that amazingly contrasting culture too. We rent: *********Yavanna to family groups of between 5 and 15, for between £650 and £1,600 per week, depending on the group size and time of year. For our all-inclusive activity retreats we take up to 11 people, and charge between £220 and £530, depending on the length of the course and the room chosen. We have our own website (www.YavannaPortugal.com) and also advertise on www.ownersdirect.co.uk/portugal/P3200.htm. Also please see www.holiday-rentals.co.uk/reviews/p68846 to read independent reviews. We pay: *********Around €200 (£175) per month for gardening and cleaning. Electricity, water, sewerage, insurance, telephone and council tax cost €350 (£310) per month. Laundry costs €50 (£40) per month and advertising €500 (£440) per annum. For our retreats, we employ two chefs and also incur costs for leaders, food, alcohol and motoring costs for transfer and excursions.Key Points:*************- Thriving business- Fantastic reputation- 3 granite farmhouses- 10 bedrooms- 8 bath/shower rooms- Contemporary renovation- 12*6m pool, 1.5 acres- Large artist's studio- Cheap standard of living- The real traditional Portugal- Only 10 minutes from Spain- Under 2 hours flight from London- Near Europe’s best surf beaches- Near beautiful mountain ranges- Ill health reluctantly forcing sale

It is particularly suitable for beginners and children. It is also one of the three cheapest places in the world for skiing. It boasts an excellent ski school - possibly the best for beginners, and instructors speak good English. Ski hire and ski tuition are cheap when compared to anywhere else. A lift pass is about £100 and ski/board tuition is around £100 for 4 hours over 6 days. This compares favourably to anywhere (some European resorts charge £250for a lift pass during peak season). For tuition and equipment hire we would recommendfor skiing - Interski Pamporovo (Anglo Bulgarian; several languages spoken) interskipamporovo@yahoo.comfor snowboarding - The Snowshack - run by British enthusiasts/experts thesnowshack@yahoo.co.ukBoth are based near the Hotel Marcony near ski centre 2, MalvinasThere is a connection between the two schools so families and groups can arrange to ski and boardwithout much separation. Unique Opportunity to Buy Large Building Comprising 3 Ski Apartments in Excellent Pyrenean Ski Resort The building comprises of three large apartments that are clearly shown in the following plans. The apartments have been solely used for rental purposes since the buidling was built in the 1980s and offer a solid basis as a business whether it be as individual apartments or as a hotel or bed and breakfast. The interiors are in need of modernisation and have essentialy been left as a blank canvas for the future investors. The ski resort of Mont D’Olmes is thought to be one of  the most attractive resorts in the area with good annual snow fall due to the north facing slopes. It is also the closest resort to Toulouse, which guarantees healthy numbers on the slopes and in the apartments throughout all peak times. The French government has recently invested millions of euros in the resort from road improvements to a new chairlift lift system which was installed in 2007; all of which guarantees the resort will become increasingly popular. The house is around 250 meters from the main lifts and is one of the closest in the resort to the piste. The local area also offers a diversity which lends itself to year round rentals unlike most ski resorts, particuarly those found in the Alps. The local area – the Occitan – is steeped in Cathar history with Chateau Montsegur on the drive up to the resort. Combine this with the rich viticulturural heritage of Corbieres, Minervois and Fitou nearby and cities like Carcassonne, Toulouse, Lourdes and Perpignan and you can quickly see why it is an excellent base to explore Southern France, the Pyrenees, Northern Spain and Andorra at any time of year. There is fishing in season, trekking, mountaineering, ski de fond, horse riding, mountain biking and many more sporting and cultural passtimes to be found in the local area. The resort has now developed a summer business as well thanks in part to the new chairlift, with restaurants and the alimentation open through the key months, mountain bike and arapao rental available and a massive 230km of prepared single track rides throughout the Pays d’Olmes area. Mont D’Olmes is also only a stone’s throw from other major Pyrenean resorts such as Ax les Thermes and less than one hour from Andorra for excellent skiing and shopping. The possibilities really are endless! Layout of the Property: Ground Floor – 1 apartment on 1 floor with dormitory style accommodation, bathroom (with shower), separate lavatory, kitchen, extra bedroom and sitting room/dinig room 1st Floor – 2 maisonette style apartments on 2 floors with 3 bedrooms each (3rd bedroom requires utilising the garage which is useless in winter), kitchen, sitting room/dining room, bathroom (with shower) and separate lavatory 2nd Floor - 2 maisonette style apartments on 2 floors with 3 bedrooms each, kitchen, sitting room/dining room, bathroom (with shower) and separate lavatory. The roofspace is sound as is the roof with room for storage or possible conversion. The chalet as a business Since 2006 we have been running one of the apartments as a rental property which is currently advertised online with Abritel, MediaVacances, 123SkiChalets and HolidayRentals. The chalet has its own website at http://www.mont-dolmes.com and is already booked for rentals during December 2009 and February 2010. Land – The land is front of the house is owned jointly with the chalet some distance away. There is no planning permision for further properties around the house, so the view will remain unspoilt. There is the chance however that the land could be bought and developed for a reasonable price. Current Rental Prices per Apartment: High season €1000 per week in Christmas and New Year €500 per week in February, March, Easter & August Mid season €400 per week in January, June, July, September & December Low season €300 per week in April, May, October & November N.B. - 100 Euro a week is charged for electricity in the colder months Refurbishment Costs: Please contact us for our Excel spreadsheet with a basic overview of what costs are involved to refurbish and furnish the apartments to a good standard for rental. We can also reccomend skilled builders who know the apartments to carry out any work, with both French and English speaking staff. Mortgages: We can also help reccomend local banks and someone to translate if required. It is quicker and easier to arrange your mortgage in France than through UK brokers or the UK arm of a French bank. The property currently has a mortgage with Banque Populaire in the local town of Lavelanet, and we are sure that they would be keen to retain the business if a mortgage is required. Taxes and Costs: Habitation and Fonciere tax combined with TV licence come to around 2,000.00 Euro per year. There are no water rates due to using ‘source’ water from the mountain as far as we are aware. Electricity costs around 300 Euros a quarter, but the house is well suited to installing solar power and reducing this cost. The cooker hobs runs of a butane gas bottles (common in France) and costs around 60 Euros a year each. Wood can be purchased from local retailers for the open fires in the upper two apartments.  These costs are based on the property being used all year. A telephone can be installed and it is possible to utilise a dial up connection for the internet with unlimited monthly access costing 20 Euros. Broadband access is in the valley and this may now also be available in the resort. Activities nearby Walking, Cycling, Skiing, Water sports, Fishing, Golf, Horse riding, Tennis Local amenities: Mont D'olmes – Mont D’Olmes is a real treasure of a Ski resort, still relatively unknown to the masses, there is great skiing, snow boarding or sledging.
