Aghaboe House was finished about 1730. It was the home to the famous Irish. Antiquarian Edward Ledwich circa 1790. Ledwich was the author of Antiquities of Ireland a two volume set with spectacular woodcuts published in 1795. A pristine copy may be inspected by prior arrangement. We visited the house when it was a bit chilly out but the pellet stoves made the rooms perfectly warm. I was intrigued by the kitchen as I had never used an oil-fired stove before. It worked quite well and was just as easy as using the gas and electric stoves that I am used to.
